Inaugural IC European Seminar presents hot topic of SOA where users will share their experiences
London, 11 June, 2007. Lustratus (www.lustratus.com) an independent source of opinion, research and analysis relating to the software marketplace, announced today that Director, Steve Craggs will be delivering a controversial and Award winning paper at the inaugural European Integration Consortium (IC) Seminar to be held in Brussels on 28th June, 2007 titled “SOA is rubbish!”
The Integration Consortium’s first European seminar will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brussels. The seminar raises issues, challenges and promotes discussion on service-oriented architecture (SOA) and its usage in practice. Wells Fargo and Cap Gemini will be among the presenters sharing their SOA experiences and insights.
Anyone interested in SOA, whether beginner or expert, will benefit from the opportunity to hear from companies that have been involved in practical SOA, and to get involved with others in the European SOA community. Registration can be made at http://brussels.icmembers.org.
Recent feedback from the IC’s Global Summit in Banff Springs makes interesting reading.
“Very well done…Opened my eyes to Open Source Options”
“An Excellent discussion of topics of genuine interest to attendees”
“Very entertaining, yet highly relevant. Bringing SOA down to earth, back to reality, will help the sceptics truly believe SOA is actually achievable”
Steve Craggs, Director of Lustratus and European Chair of the IC adds, “There is a great deal of confusion and frustration with any project that involves an element of integration. What users want is a realism check. They like to hear the trials and tribulations of other users which help them avoid repeating the mistakes others have made and enable them to realise the business benefits that the technology promises.”

About the Integration Consortium
The IC is a not-for-profit consortium open to all those involved in the development and implementation of integration related projects that utilise the myriad of technologies and methodologies available today. Since 2001, its mission is to provide a forum for discussion and debate and runs numerous successful chapters in the USA. In addition, the annual Global Integration Summit (www.globalintegrationsummit.com), held this year in Banff, Canada, proved to be extremely popular with users, who claim it is one of the few forums where they get to hear from other users about their own experiences. The Brussels seminar is the first of a number of events planned by the newly formed European chapter of the Integration Consortium which will extend the good work of the IC and open up the opportunity for European organisations to become involved at a local level.
